A bit happier
Found my photo although its smaller somehow. Took forever to edit some of some of the posts. Seems to be some problems with saving changes. But think it needs changing again!!!
Not happy
Spur of the moment decision to click a few buttons and hey presto my blog has completely changed. Thought it was just showing me an example of what it would look like. But its now lost 2 photos that I have taken years ago and I would love to have them back on my blog.
Hmmmm!

New Stamps - well new to me anyway, and some old ones
The finished page -
On this page, I decided to stamp up the flowers off the Hot Picks Plates 1010, 1009, 1011, 1205, 1206, 1204, and 1111. I used the 3 large bottles from HP 1205, 1203 and 1204. Other stamps used are from The Ink and The Dog Collection - Man of Number Plate 6; from the Urban Snapshots Collection - Passing Time plates 2 and 4; and the new Eclectica Collection ESN01, ESN05 and ESN07.
The other supplies you'll need are Fresco paints. These are the ones I used for the background-
I used others for colouring but I also used Letraset Aqua markers which are like a watercolour marker. Use an Aquash water brush over the top and the marker moves like watercolour paint.
I used a few odd bits and pieces, like a label from the new Food Shop that's opened up near here, pages from an old book and washi tape.
Here's the background after painting. It was greener than it looked in this scan
Next Stamp the images. You need to mask some of the flowers so that the background girls from Passing Time fit. If the girl image doesn't fit snuggly up to the flower use a copic marker to "colour" in the girl so that it meets the stamped flower image. Here's what it looks like with all the images stamped over the background.
Then add more stamping, bits and pieces of word from an old book or dictionary, date stamp and the postage stamps. Have fun. I did.

New Fresco Paints
Yesterday I got a parcel from PaperArtsy Headquarters with some of the new paints, some I didn't yet have and some stamps. So I had to paint them out again . Here they are:
Still some old and new still to get but the new colours are fab.

Journal Pages 19 and 20
I decided to use Dylusions Sprays and stencils but wanted to paint a face on the other page using Fresco paints. After many layers of paint and then a layer of Liquitex clear gesso I could finally paint over the spray which is not waterproof when dry!
More Pages
Well about 10 days ago I got some Distress paints. I decided to just play and see what would go over it in terms of ink pads, fresco paints, rub ons and so on. In the end I think I've decided I prefer the PaperArtsy Fresco paints.
So these are pages 17 and 18 of this new journal. They actually have a piece of Tim Holtz Tissue paper taped between the 2 pages using washi tape because I wasn't sure if the pages wouldn't end up sticking together.

More journal pages with Fresco paints from PaperArtsy
Some of these scans aren't the best but I absolutely love the flat matte texture these paints have. They are lovely to touch and stamp over. I tried a few of the different inks I have over the paint and the best is versafine although it does take a while to dry. Speed up the process with a heat gun. My last page is just paint and paint through stencils. I just couldn't bring myself to even write over it or do any other stamping. The colours aren't quite the same as in my journal, for example, the blue is not as dark. It's baltic blue.

2013 Journal 9 February 2013
The 1st page was painted with dabber paints and page 2 was with various pens
Thi page was an experiment with Fresco Chalk acrylic paints by PaperArtsy. I used crackle glaze on page 3 (left hand side). The stamped ladies were stamped on Leandra's tissue paper and painted front and back before being glued to the page with satin glaze. Leandra is so right when she says its tougher and the tissue likes being lifted up and placed down again. It seems to absorb the glaze and help the tissue flatten right down so there are no air bubbles.
Couldn't resist painting out splotches of the fresco paints to see how they looked all together.
These pages were painted with fresco paints, then stamped over with various PaperArtsy stamps using memento and distress ink.

7Gypsy Photo Carousal
I love these 7 Gypsy Photo Carousals. I made a few over the last few months. The latest one was for recipes and it now sits on the bench in the kitchen. It has about 100 double sided pages, all made on the computer using digital kits from 2Peas and my photos and other bits and pieces. I have another one on the go with pictures of family.

Digital
I've been playing around with a 7Gypsy Photo Carousal and making digital pages for it. Here's some of my attempts.

Today I had a play with a photo I took some time ago of one of my Father's orchids. I layered it with an overlay from Jaiel and used words and just played in photoshop. I love the different looks that can be created with simple pictures and simple techniques. But photoshop is such a complex programme to learn to use. I wonder if there would ever be enough time to learn more of it.

And Then There was....More Tags
Another scrap book page
Tags
I've been soo busy and hadn't realised how long it's been since I scanned and uploaded something. These are a set of tags I made last weekend for my local craft store. They were so quick and very easy to make.
